Abstract
Fractures of the tibial condyle, involving articular surface and soft tissues such as collteral and cruciate ligaments, have presented a variety of problems in their treatment and prognosis. Recently most authors recommend anatomical reduction of
the
fracture as possible and early motion of the knee joint. We report our clinical analysis of athe thirty-eight tibial condylar fractures treated at the Ewha Womens University Hospital from Jan. 1986 to Dec. 1990.
@ES The results were as the followings.
@EN 1. The incidence was more frequent in male, and the commonest age group was in the fifth decade(13 cases, 34%).
2. According to the Hohl's classification, type III and IV(each 10 cases, 26% respectively) were common.
3. Ten cases(26%) were treated nonoperatively, and the remaining twenty-eight fractures(73%) were treated by operative methods.
4. In each groups. the cases that showed satisfactory result were respectively 6 cases and 18 cases.
5. Among 12 cases associated ligament injury, 7 cases showed the satisfactory result and in the 26 cases without ligament injury, the 17 cases showed satisfatory results.
